Week One (August 23-27)
This was a whirlwind of a week for everyone! Monday, August 23 was UC's first day back! I only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I was luckily able to help out with 3/5 Welcome Week events! Early in the morning, I worked the Student Life front desk. After that, I worked the Welcome week event!
Tuesday, August 24 was my most hectic day yet! I worked the Student Life front desk 8-9 am and then I had to rush to class! Tuesday was my first day of class and my first time being in a physical classroom since March 2020! In between my morning class and my Welcome Desk shift, I was able to visit our Prayer and Meditation Room. Our DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) team here at UCBA has created a truly beautiful space for us. Tuesday was crazy for me and I was so grateful to have been able to use that space. Afterwards, I had breakfast my friend, Harley, (who is also an Ambassador!!!) in Bleeker St. Café and Commons. I also worked the Welcome Desk 12-2. After, I worked Student Life front desk, and when my shift ended there, I was able to help out at the Welcome Desk 4:15 - 4:45 pm until my Middle Education Field Experience Lecture!
Wednesday, August 25 was a much slower day for me! I had a practice prospective tour with Hariph in the morning. Then, I worked the Student Life Front desk until the Welcome Week event. After Welcome Week, I worked at the Dry Cleaners in my town.
Thursday, August 26 I worked the Student Life front desk 8-3 pm with breaks for my classes.
Friday, August 27 I studied with friends in the library study rooms and then worked the final Welcome week event!
Overall, this week was crazy, but I had so much fun! I met so many amazing people not only in my classes, but also while working the Welcome Week events! I have included some of my favorite moments from the week here:
a) Customizing our Giant Jenga set into a conversational game by writing questions on all the blocks with Molly!
b) Watching Bri (from Admissions) kill it at karaoke on Friday! I wish I had a video! It was so fun!
c) Getting my first fall drink of the season from Starbucks! I got the apple crisp macchiato...it was so good! You have to try it!
d) Seeing our pictures hanging up in Muntz by the cafe! It was kind of weird at first, but it is super cool to see yourself on a poster!
